The $100K Job Playbook

A six-figure job search run like a sale. Six steps, 30 tools, where to start at each one, and the prompt that builds your plan.

A six-figure job search works like a sale: find the buyer, reach the person who decides, make an offer, close the call. Most people stop at step one — Easy Apply, then wait.

The playbook

Step Five tools Start with
1. Find $100K jobs Ladders, LinkedIn, Indeed, Wellfound, ZipRecruiter LinkedIn — free to search and apply
2. Build your resume Teal, Kickresume, Rezi, Enhancv, Jobscan Teal — free, unlimited resumes
3. Find the key people Hunter.io, RocketReach, Anymail Finder, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Clay Hunter.io — 50 free credits a month, no card
4. Do outreach Instantly, Lemlist, Smartlead, Reply.io, Woodpecker Instantly — 14-day trial, no card
5. Create your offer Framer, Loom, Claude Code, Canva, Gamma Framer + Loom — both free
6. Take the sales call Fathom, Fireflies.ai, Read AI, tl;dv, MeetGeek Fathom — free, no recording cap

Step 5 is the one nobody else takes: a one-page site and a 60-second Loom on your first 90 days. It stands out against every PDF in the pile.

📋 Paste this into your AI

Copy this into ChatGPT or Claude and fill in the two brackets. It takes a minute.

I’m a [your current role and years of experience] going after [the role you want — e.g. Head of Sales at a software company]. Build me my $100K job search plan:

  1. Three job titles to search, and the kinds of companies that pay $100K+ for them.
  2. Five resume bullets written as results, with a blank where my own number goes.
  3. The titles of the people who’d actually hire me — the hiring manager, not HR.
  4. A cold email to that person, under 90 words, plus two shorter follow-ups.
  5. A one-page first-90-days plan to send before the interview.
  6. The five questions I’ll most likely get on the call, and how to answer each.

Write it plainly. Then ask me the three things you’d need to know to make it fit me exactly.

What comes back is the whole playbook, built for your search.

The three traps

  • Don’t automate LinkedIn. Its User Agreement bans bots and extensions that scrape profiles or message for you, and accounts that use them get restricted. Find names yourself; let Hunter find the email.
  • Don’t blast. Twenty personal emails to the right people beat 500 sequenced ones. If you use a sequencer, send from a second domain — a burned domain takes your inbox with it.
  • Ask before you record. California and ten other states require everyone on a call to agree to a recording. Ask first, every call — and never bring a notetaker to an interview uninvited.

Start this week

  1. Paste the prompt. Get your titles, your bullets and your first email.
  2. Find 20 hiring managers. Names from LinkedIn, by hand. Emails from Hunter — the free plan covers 50 a month.
  3. Send five a day. Short, personal, from your own inbox. Book the calls.
